FAQ

When are you open?

Generally, we open at 7am Tuesday through Friday and 10am on Saturday. Our closing hours and Sunday/Monday hours can vary depending on trainer availability. For our updated weekly hours, check our website and our instagram page.

Where is the gym located?

Witness the Fitness is located at 268 Keefer Street, between Main and Gore streets, in the Sun Wah Centre. We are on the LG (basement) floor.

How do I get into the building?

From street level, there is an on-duty security guard during regular office hours to let patrons in. If the security guard isn’t there when you arrive, please call the number on the door and someone will buzz you in. In the unlikely event that no one answers this number, please text Jenn at (778) 230-9261 or your coach and they will come up to let you in.

How do I find you once I’m in the building?

Walk through the lobby to the elevator. Take the elevator to the LG level and take a left, then a wee straight, then another left through the first (blue) door. Confused? So is everyone. If you can’t find your way, Jenn made a video showing how to get to us. Watch it here.

Can I park in the Sun Wah Parkade?

Yes, you can park in the Parkade from 7am-7pm. If you have a class or plan on being in the gym after 7pm, please DO NOT park in the Centre parkade, as the gates are locked at 7pm. You’ll have to take the stairs or the elevator down to the Lobby to pay for parking at the meter.

Metered street parking is relatively plentiful after 6pm, and Strathcona has some free street parking a few blocks away.

What if I’m not in good shape?

Working out is about having fun and moving your body in a way that makes you feel good. “Growing Stronger Together” is our motto. You don't have to be in good shape to come here--we love our beginners! You’ll meet nice people who all were beginners at some point, and who enjoy helping new members feel welcome.

What do I need to bring to my session?

Wear or bring some workout clothes, or any clothing you can comfortably move in. We do not allow street shoes on the matted area. You can either workout in socks, barefoot, or bring a pair of clean gym shoes. Bring a water bottle--we have spring water here, and we can label and store your bottle here if you like.

What equipment is available at the gym?

We are equipped with a power rack and a half-rack for barbell lifts, two deadlift areas, and a variety of barbells, plates, and dumbbells. We also have a large matted area for working out and stretching, gymnastic rings, and tons of bands, boxes, balls, and other fitness toys.

What amenities are available at the gym?

We have face towels, disposable washcloths, menstrual products, deodorant, facemasks, hand sanitizer, hair elastics, and many other things you might need to freshen up. We have restrooms here where you can change, but we do not have showers.

What is Open Gym and what does an Open Gym membership include?

Open Gym gives you access to the matted area, weight racks,  and other equipment in the gym so you can do your own workout. You have a variety of options; from drop-ins to monthly membership.

An Open Gym membership includes unlimited access to the Gym during our Open hours.

Open Gym is not available while classes or courses are being held, so please check our schedule to confirm those hours.

What if I need to cancel my Personal Training session?

You can cancel for free up to 24h before your session. After the 24h period, you will be charged for your missed session.

What is the age requirement for joining the gym?

For personal training and classes, participants must be aged 14 or older. We love when family members train together!

What if I don’t know what I’m doing?

That’s exactly why you should come visit us! We’ll help you figure out what to do. Whether you need some one-on-one coaching or just a little guidance on your workout, we’re here to help! We have lots of fun resources like our “Workout of the Week’ that give members a different workout every week to follow. And if you’re still lost, Jenn or one of our other coaches will help you out!
